Zermatt is a small mountain resort nestled in the mountains of Canton Valais in the south of Switzerland. The town is at an elevation of 1608m and has a population of less than 6000 people, although this number swells to around 30,000 over Christmas and New Year as visitors flock to experience this winter wonderland.
